About Us

We’re Kevin and Joy Decker. We are helping thousands of people learn the relationship skills they need to have great relationships and Healthy, Wealthy, and Hot marriages. Happier couples means happier families.

Our dream is to help children learn a model for a healthy marriage by helping their parents to have rich, exciting marriages today. We are helping make a happier world one marriage at a time.

We believe that you can create a Healthy, Wealthy, and Hot marriage. Some marriages may take a little bit of work and some will take a lot. We believe that all marriages have their ups and downs (including ours) and one of the keys is accepting that fact, celebrating the ups, and working through the downs. We believe the upside of a great marriage pays off in being healthier, wealthier and definitely hotter. And a happy marriage makes for happy kids who in their turn can create happy marriages of their own because they’ve seen how it works.

We believe you can overcome a family history of dysfunction and divorce.

We are passionate about sharing our experiences to help you have a great marriage. We are not counselors or psychologists. We believe in God. We believe that great marriages require commitment and communication.

As creators of the Healthy, Wealthy, and Hot Marriage System we teach, coach, and share with couples the processes, strategies, and skills we, and they, can use to create loving, passionate, and long lasting marriages.

Our relationship is based on a marriage of widely different backgrounds:

* Kevin is the oldest of 21 children.

* Joy is the 5th of 6 girls.

* Kevin’s dad has been married 6 times.

* Joy’s parents have been happily married over 50 years.

* Kevin suffered through an ugly divorce.

* Joy’s on her 1st marriage and intends to keep it that way!

* Kevin has a BS with a Major in Sociology from Excelsior College.

* Joy graduated cum laude from Duke University with a BS in Computer Science.

* Kevin was an E5 in the Navy.

* Joy was a Captain in the Air Force.

* Kevin grew up in the U.S.

* Joy grew up in Brazil.

Despite these contrasting backgrounds we constantly work together to improve our marriage. Again, we are not counselors, but we are coaches and we work with other couples to help them improve their marriages.

Together, we are co-authors of the bestselling book Romantic Antics: Creative Ideas for Successful First Dates, Adventurous Saturday Nights, and Playful Long Weekends. We are members of The Coalition for Marriage, Family and Couples Education and the Association of Marriage and Family Ministries.

We’ve been profiled in the Charlotte Observer.

We’ve been featured as a Spotlight Couple in Marriage magazine.

We are graduates of the PAIRS and REPAIRS courses developed by Dr. Lori Gordon and Kevin has been trained to teach the “Divorce Busting” and “Keeping Love Alive” programs by Michelle Weiner Davis, the “How Not to Marry a Jerk (or Jerkette)” and “Marriage Links” programs by Dr. John Van Epp, and trained to teach the “Hot Monogamy” program by Dr. Pat Love.
